Sensory Trail

Trail riders & horses

This is a sensory trail for the therapeutic riding program at Achievement Centers for Children – Camp Cheerful. This trail is exquisite!!!  There are different types of footing on the trail such as rocks, sand, and a bridge to listen to the horses steps. There are also bells and wind chimes located in three areas. There are noodles for the horses to walk through. A mailbox is also located on the trail with three different color buckets. This is a very unique trail! I hope you enjoy all of the pictures. Please look at the site above to view the Flickr pictures. This trail was completed in August 2009.

  • Momentive Corporation donated their time and materials to make this happen. Momentive employees worked with Jennifer to implement sensory type materials for the clients while riding horses.
  • A Eagle Scout Josh Gaydosh donated the sand for the footing.
